June 27, 2018.
To The Elgin Street School Community,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as your new Elgin Street P.S. Principal. My name is Mr. MacKay, I am thrilled to be joining this wonderful school community. I have already been graciously welcomed by some school community members that I have already met during a brief visit. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed.
Students you need to know that I look forward to helping you, guiding you, caring for you and listening to you. I will be fair with you and I will be honest with you. I will also have high expectations for you, both for your learning and with your daily behavior. We will also have fun everyday. Thank you students for doing your very best this past year. If you feel that this past year was not as good as it could have been, I challenge you to start fresh in September!
Staff, I have heard so many positive things about you. I look forward to learning with you, supporting you and leading you. We also will take time to enjoy our journey together. I thank you for your efforts on behalf of the community this past year. Well-done!
To our families and community members. I believe that you will find me to be real, consistent, open and easy to talk with. I have been in this role for quite some time and I am very familiar with this community. My wish is that you will feel that you have been listened to and that my interests and my decisions are always based on what is best for the student. I also want to thank you for your support of the school community and the staff this past year!
In ending, I look forward to seeing you all in September. Ms. Stacey and I will be working hard to ensure that this school is always vibrant, welcoming, safe and focused on student achievement and the development of true character and healthy well-being. I also want to thank Ms. Stacey for her tremendous efforts this year. She has worked very hard to ensure all has been good at Elgin Street Public School.
Have a happy and safe summer holiday!
Sincerely,
A. MacKay
Principal
